Popularly known as the "Yoga Capital of the World", Rishikesh has a lot of devotees and disciples who visit the place to practise yoga.

1. Parmarth Niketan
Parmarth Niketan is one of the top yoga centres in India. As it is located on the banks of the Ganges and has a private ghat, those who seek spiritual uplift are not let down by the serene ambience of the centre. With over 1000 rooms with al modern amenities provided, the ashram is open to all. Your religion, race, gender or nationality does not matter if all you seek is spiritual enlightenment.

2. Sivananda Ashram
Located near Ram Jhula in Rishikesh, Sivananda Ashram was founded by Swami Sivananda who came to Rishikesh and have stayed here for decades. The Ashram is also known as Divine Life Society. The ashram conducts classes in yoga and pranayama (breathing techniques). The morning classes are for men and evening classes are for women.

3. Omkarananda Ganga Sadan
This yoga centre is located at the banks of Ram Jhula and has a private ghat where evening aarti is performed every day. The method of yoga followed here is Iyengar yoga. Regular classes and courses are offered by the Yoga Kendra for the spiritual seekers. The centre offers a serene atmosphere for the disciples, helping them live a sattvic life, away from the worldly pleasures.

4. Yoga Niketan Ashram
This yoga centre is located close to Laxman Jhula, from where river Ganga is also near. Visitors come here to take a break from their busy lives and experience the fullness of a calm life, attending yoga classes, having organic food and staying close to nature. The centre has a Sadhna Hall, Yoga Hall, Library and Kitchen.

5. Osho Ganga Dham Ashram
The Osho Ganga Dham Ashram is just 15 minutes drive from Rishikesh. People from various pars of the world, belonging to every age group, visit the centre to live by the ideologies preached by Osho, the spiritual guru. There are various programs that are based on the concept of nourishment of body, mind and soul.
