The Gandhi Smriti is a memorial built in the honour of the father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi. The memorial contains a huge collection of books and other personal items that were used by him. There is also a photo gallery that has many pictures of this great personality. Tourists come here to pay their respects and also to know more about his way of living.

Nilambagh Palace

Nilambagh Palace

The Nilambagh Palace was used as the royal residence. Even to this day the heirs of the royal family stays here. It has been converted to a heritage property and those who wish a taste of royal life can stay here. The palace corridors are filled with history of all the kings who have stayed here and is definitely a learning point. Tourists can come here and enjoy the luxuries and also explore the ancient palace.

Ghogha Beach

The Ghogha beach is the best place to head to for spending a day under the sun. The beach is not very famous and therefore is not very crowded. You can stretch yourself in the sand and relax under the sun with the soothing noise of the sea waves in the background.

If you are more of a socialising individual then Mahuva Beach is the place to head to. The beach is crowded by visitors and there are many amusements you can indulge in while here. The lovely view and tranquillity around will force you to stay a little longer.

Velavadar Black Buck National Park

Velavadar Black Buck National Park

The Velavadar Black Buck National Park is another major tourist attraction in Bhavnagar. The park which was previously the hunting ground for the Maharaja of Bhavnagar is now home to many wild animals. The most commonly found and protected animal here is the Black Buck. Other animals that roam these grounds include the Nilgai, jackal, wolf, jungle cat and more. Wildlife enthusiasts come here to catch a glimpse of these animals.

Palitana Jain Temples

Palitana Jain Temples

The Palitana Jain Temples have been carved out of marbles and there are about 3,000 of them that stands atop the Shatrunjaya hills. The main temple is dedicated to Lord Adinath who was the first Tirthankar of the Jains. Jain devotees come to this temple as there is a belief here that those who climb the hills and come here will attain salvation. It also attracts tourists who come here to marvel at the gigantic architecture and also to enjoy the view of the region.

Brahma Kund

Brahma Kund

The Brahma Kund is a stepped tank which is built in medieval architectural design. There are lovely carved deities that adorn the architecture. Tourists are attracted to the place by the beauty of the tank waters and you can spend hours sitting on the steps and enjoying the surrounding views.
