Ganapati Bappa Moraya!
Ganesh Chaturthi is the festival where all the Hindu devotees offer prayers and worship to the Lord Ganesha, the one who removes obstacles and grants boons. It is celebrated all through India with great aplomb. Devotees sing praises to the lord and offer him sweets on this day.
It is a day of revelry and people around the country please the lord according to their respective customs. In the north devotees are seen going frantic during the celebration, they march the streets with the idol of the lord shouting and dancing. While down south the celebrations are calmer.
Every household does puja to the lord and offerings of flowers and sweets are placed at his feet. It is believed that any good or new thing which a person is about to embark upon should be first blessed by him. Here we take a look at a few of the temples and idols of Lord Ganesha in India and pray he protects us from evil always.
