As Jack Kerouac in his book "On the Road" states, "The only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing... and it is so true when it comes to choosing your travel companion; travel, without a pinch of madness is super boring.
Does that mean, there is a rule book to be read through while choosing a travel companion? No, not really! Let's see what are the 4 main traits to check while choosing a travel companion.

When you travel together, being like-minded becomes very important. If your travel companion is someone who would say and wants to do exactly the opposite of what you want; then the journey is in jeopardy.
Track Expense, Let's do it later?
Keeping a tab on the expenses throughout the journey is a herculean task but a very important thing. As Ralph Waldo Emerson says, "Money often costs too much", if you do not keep a track on the expenses; it may lead to a lot of unnecessary things which may become impossible to be solved. In the world of wondrous gadgets, wise man is the winner. So figure out a way to have a hassle-free trip without "MONEY" being a barrier.
"I" think it can wait, "I" feel this is a great place
Another challenge is not to have individual opinions. The choice of both the travelers are equally important and "I" can always wait over "WE". Both of you need to do a certain amount of ground-work right at the planning phase for a smooth journey.
I am feeling lazy and I am feeling really low on energy; plans can wait
Laziness is sometimes contagious and people with mood swings are better to be avoided. You may have a list of destinations to be covered and everything might have sounded fun during the planning phase but on the actual day; laziness takes over everything leaving you baffled about your companion's attitude.
