Bajrangi Bhaijaan Shooting Locations – A Visual Treat

Bajrangi Bhaijaan has become an immense commercial hit this year. Even though the film's success goes to the actor Salman Khan, child actor Harshali Malhotra(Munni) and to the heart touching story; it has many other attractions. The mesmerizing locations shown in the movie are definitely behind the success of the movie as well.

Watching the film, one might wonder whether they are shot in a foreign country. Actually, the whole shooting of Bajrangi Bhaijaan has happened in India. Even Pakistan depicted in the film is shot in India itself.

Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah in Delhi is a mausoleum of the famous Sufi saint Nizamuddin Auliya. In Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Shahida(Harshali Malhotra) with her mother comes to visit this Dargah in India. The first level of the film's shooting happened in Delhi.

Samjhauta Express(friendship express) is a bi-weekly train between Delhi and Lahore in Pakistan. Munni and her mother in the film travel in this train from Pakistan.

Attari in Amritsar is just 3km away from India-Pakistan border at Wagah. It is the last railway station connecting Delhi to Lahore. Munni( Harshali Malhotra) in Bajrangi Bhaijaan gets off the train in Attari to play with a lamb.

Most of Bajrangi Bhaijaan's shooting happened in this beautiful town. Known for its old havelis and forts, it is a favourite shooting spot. The open fields and sand dunes featured in the movie as a part of Pakistan, is Mandawa in Rajasthan.

Thajiwas Glacier, Sonamarg ( Kashmir Valley)

The climax scene of Bajrangi Bhaijaan is shot in Thajiwas Glacier which is 10,000 ft above the sea level. The director Kabir Khan wanted the climax to be shot in an unexplored location. The chasing sequence and action sequence in the movie are shot in Thajiwas Glacier.

Sonamarg (Meadow of Gold) is a hill station. The snow showered mountains in Bajarangi Bhaijaan belong to this place. It is a popular tourist destination which has a backdrop of Himalayan mountains.

Zojila pass situated between Srinagar and Leh is a high mountain pass in India. The movie has also been shot at some places of Zojila pass.

ND Studios, Karjat

Big ND Studios at Karjat, Maharashtra is a famous 'Film and TV shooting' studio. The famous film Jodha Akbar's sets were built here and the popular reality show Big Boss house is also located here. Some of the sequences of Bajrangi Bhaijaan has been shot in this studio.
