Antharagange is one of the beautiful and interesting trekking places near Kolar which has a lot for exploration! Known as the 'Kashi of the South', Antharagange has become popular as one of the famous weekend getaways from Bengaluru (Bangalore).
The name 'Antharagange' comes from a small perennial stream that falls on the Shiva Linga from the mouth of the bull statue. Since nobody knows the source of this water, it is called as Antharagange 'Hidden Ganges' or 'Ganges from the deep'.

Anthargange is not just a trekking spot but also a pilgrimage site. Many visit the Kashi Vishweshwara Temple here. The shrine is dedicated to Lord Shiva and hence the name Dakshin Kashi or Kashi of the South.

Best Time to Visit Antharagange
Post-Monsoon season from October to February is the best time to visit Antharagange. Since, it is a rocky hill, avoid going in summer. You won't be able to trek easily in hot weather.
How to Reach Antharagange
Antharagange is around 6km from Kolar. It is around 70km from Bengaluru to Antharagange.
By Bus: Kolar is the nearest town, and many government buses go from Bangalore to Kolar on a daily basis. However, it is better to hire a cab or a private vehicle for Antharagange trip.
By Train: Kolar Railway Station is the nearest railway station.
