1. Karnala

2. Kashid
It is great that while looking for weekend getaway options around Mumbai, you are spoilt for choice with the variety of both hill stations and beaches to choose from. Kashid is one of the most beautiful beaches in the region. It serves as an ideal spot to relax with family and friends. You can also visit the nearby Phansad Bird Sanctuary. The beach is known to have high tides so stay alert while venturing into the waters.

3. Durshet
Escape from the jungles of concrete and steel into the green forests of Durshet. Located around 100 km from Mumbai, the place is a revelation with its thick vegetation, consisting of a variety of trees that is also home to many animals, birds and reptiles. It is another great place to visit in the post-monsoon season. You can also go rafting in the Kundalika River nearby.

4. Bordi
The pristine and uncluttered beach that stretches a mesmerising 17 km is Bordi near Mumbai. It is one of the famous weekend holiday destinations from the city. People visiting the place can also explore the Chiku farms, in fact the period of October to December is ideal for purchasing this delicious fruit. 5. Jawhar
The unpolluted tribal hill station is located at a distance of around 167 km from Mumbai and is popular for its scenic beauty and calm. You can indulge in activities such as trekking and observing monuments such as the Jai Vilas Palace. The nearby viewpoint called Hanuman Point offers breathtaking views of the surroundings. It is also a great place for art lovers as you get to observe the traditional art form of Warli here.

6. Khandala
Popular as a setting for filming of several movies, Khandala was even featured in a cheeky song in an Amir Khan movie where he asks his lady love to make a trip to Khandala with him. The beautiful hill station is located at a short distance from Maharashtra's famous tourist getaway; Lonavla. Explore the ghat sections, forts, waterfalls and sheer grandeur of nature at Khandala.

7. Lonavla
Among the most popular travel destination in Maharashtra, Lonavla is beautiful almost all through the year. Located around 90 km from Mumbai city, the place is a magical land of greenery, gurgling streams, lovely waterfalls and even Buddhist Caves.
