    Toda Rai Singh Town

    Toda Rai Singh Town is a city and municipality in the Tonk district of Rajasthan. It was established during the 4th century by the Nagas and was later ruled by the Yuhilas of Chatsu and the Chauhans of Ajmer. It served as the capital to Solanki Rajputs during the 15th and 16th centuries.

    The town is named after Rail Singh Sisodia who was a famous ruler of this place. He happened to be a Mughal 'Mansoobdar' during the reign of Shah Jahan. There are a large number of tourist attractions in Toda Rai Singh.

    Some of the popular attractions are Shree Kileshwar Mahadev, Naharsingh Mata, Aam Sagar, Budh Sagar, Sant Pipa ji ki Gupha, Kushal Bag, Hadi Rani Ki Baori (kund), Raja Rai Singh's Mahal, Isar Baori and Bhopat Baori. There are many beautiful temples present here as well. These include temples of Kalyanji, Raghoraiji, Gopinathji and Govinddeoji, to name a few.

    Nagarfort is a village panchayat which was formerly known as Dhara Nagari. This village is known for the fair that is organised here during the Kartik Poornima. The village has a sacred pond, and many ancient temples. Some of the temples present here are Gautam Mandir, Mata Mandir, Shyam Mandir, Charbhuja Mandir and Panchkuian Balaji Mandir.

    Sunehri Kothi

    Sunehri Kothi, also known as the Sheesh Mahal, is of great historical significance and attracts a lot of tourists every year. The inside walls of this monument are polished in gold and depict excellent artworks on diamonds and glasses.

    The Mahal was built near Bada Kuwa, on Najar Bagh Road in Tonk, by Nawab Mohammed Ibrahim Ali Khan, who was extremely fond of music, dance and poetry recitals. The building is also called the 'Mansion of Gold' in appreciation of the artworks and the architectural excellence portrayed in the building. The entire structure of Sunehri Kothi looks like an ethereal piece of enamel jewellery.

    Ghanta Ghar

    Ghanta Ghar is a popular historical attraction of Tonk. It was built by the Nawab of Tonk, Mohammed Sadat Ali Khan, in 1937. According to locals, people of the place suffered an epidemic disease called Haiza in 1936. The Nawab distributed medicines among those inflicted, and the money collected was used to build this clock tower.

    Bisalpur

    Bisalpur is a village in the Tonk district of Rajasthan and is famous for the old Lord Gokarneswar Temple. The Bisalpur Dam, which is built over the Banas river, is another attraction of Bisalpur that has brought the village in the limelight.

    The dam was built in two phases. The first phase aimed at providing drinking water to the people of the village whereas the second phase focussed on improving the irrigation facilities. This dam is 574 m long and 39.5 m high.

    Shivaji Garden

    Shivaji Garden is situated in the Bhagat Singh Colony of Newai town, about 30 km away from Tonk. The garden which bears resemblance to the Mysore Gardens and the Hiran Magari Park is a beautiful tourist destination. Musical fountains and a swimming pool grace the garden area, which sprawls over a vast area exceeding five acres. The garden is located on the national highway at a distance of 70 km from the city of Jaipur.

    Jaldevi Mandir is a temple located in the village of Bavadi near Toda Rai Singh town. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Jaldevi and was built 250 years ago. People believe that an idol of the goddess was in a nearby well around 400 years ago. A three-day festival is held at the temple during Chaitra Poornima.

    Rasiya Ke Tekri is a fabulous tourist attraction in the town of Tonk. According to a folklore, the place was named after a Kayasth lover, who used to sing love songs in the monument.     Jama Masjid

    Jama Masjid of Tonk is one of the largest mosques in India and wonderfully depicts the great Mughal architectural style of the bygone era. The first Nawab of Tonk, Nawab Amir Khan, started its construction in 1246 AD, and the mosque was finally completed in 1298 AD, during the reign of Nawab Wzirudhoula. The building has four massive minars, which can be seen from a long distance. Golden paintings and Meenakari on the walls enhance the beauty of the mosque.

    Chandlai

    Chandlai is a village situated at a distance of 10 km from Tonk city on the Tonk-Kota road. It was founded by Chandla, who was the ruler of Tonk at that time. He also constructed a pucca pond near the village and named it Bhala after the name of his daughter. His inscription on the pond wall reads baisakh sudi 15 samvat 1027 (970 AD).

    Mandakala is a village in the Tonk District in Rajasthan and is situated 2 km from Nagarfort. It is also called 'Mini Pushkar' of Rajasthan. The place has numerous trees and extensive greenery, which make it a nature lovers’ delight. Rishi Mandav, the saint after whom the place has been named, is believed to have performed penance here.
