Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Appalayagunta is placed at a distance of 4 km from Tirupati. This place is believed to have been the resting place for Lord Venkateswara during his voyage to Tirumala. Lord Venkateswara also bestowed blessings on Sri Siddeshwara and other sages here after his marriage with Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru.
The abhishekam that takes place every Friday in this temple is very famous. A large number of pilgrims come to offer their prayers here. The temple also has the shrines of Sri Andal, Goddess Padmavathi and Anjaneyaswami.
