Srirangam Weather

The best time to visit Srirangam is from October to February, when the temperature is at an all time low though it never gets searing cold. In fact, many festivals in this pilgrimage town are performed during these months because of the pleasant weather. The town sees the maximum influx of pilgrims and tourists alike during these months.

Summer

Srirangam experiences a tropical climate and therefore, the summers are hot and humid. The maximum temperature during summer months can go up to 38 degree Celsius. Summer months are typically March, April and May. The mid-afternoon sun is scorching hot, making it difficult to venture outside. However, the evenings tend to become pleasant.

Monsoon

Monsoons in Srirangam start in the month of June and continue until the end of September. The place receives moderate to heavy rainfall. The maximum recorded rainfall in the town is 835 mm. The temperature during monsoons comes down to 30 degree Celsius but the level of humidity rises sharply.

Winter

Winters start towards the end of November and continue until mid-February. However, the winters are not chilly or cold unlike the winters in northern parts of India. The maximum temperature during winters does not go below 31 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature remains at a pleasant 21 degree Celsius.
