Sirsi is a scenic little place. The Aghanashini River starts its journey from Donihalla near Sirsi. The river rushes down the rocky hills of Sirsi to create magnificent waterfalls. The town is also blessed with heavy monsoon rains and has rich tropical forests teeming with wildlife. This natural beauty makes Sirsi quite a popular getaway.

One of the most famous temples here is the 16th century Marikamba temple. The annual fair is attended by millions of devotees. Equally popular is the Maha Ganapathy temple. Devotees throng the temple to seek the advice of the Lord before starting any new venture. Legend has it that those who seek His advice are never disappointed.

Other popular places to visit include Banavasi, Sahasralinga and Unchalli falls. Banavasi is an ancient city that was the erstwhile capital of Karnataka. Sahasralinga consists of thousands of shiva lingas immersed in a river in the middle of the dense forest. It's easy to reach Sirsi. The nearest airport is around 100 kilometers away at Hubli and the area is also well connected by road.
