Siddapur is known for its natural beauty. It is a village in the Kodagu district of Karnataka. At an elevation of 1,850 feet, Siddapur has a cool and pleasant climate that adds to its charm. One of the main attractions of the town is the Burude waterfall. The region is also well known for its temples. Some of the popular destinations for pilgrims in this area include the Lakshmi Narayana temple, Kondi Marikamba and the Bankeshwara temple.

There are other villages close to Siddapur that are equally stunning. Ammathi town, which lies close to Siddapur, is again rich in plantations. In addition, an annual hockey festival called the Kodava draws huge crowds every year. Pollibetta, which has a famed Buddhist temple and a fort, could also be a part of the same circuit.

Best time to visit Siddapur

Given the cool climate, the best season to visit Siddapur is in the summer months, prior to the monsoon. October to January is also a good time to visit the town. Bangalore is the nearest airport while rail travelers would have to get out at Mysore and take local transport to the hill town.
