Shivgiri is an ideal destination for those with a yen for nature tourism. The thick, dark forests of Shivgiri are located near the Yemmedoddi village and cover the slopes of the Hoggarekangri hills in the Chikmagalur district.
Among Coffee Plantations And...Tigers?
Shivgiri is well known not just for its forests, but also for the extensive coffee plantations. The 100-year-old estate is located right at the top of the hill and its position is rather unique and it is located in the middle of a tiger reserve and it's not unusual to see the majestic beast taking a stroll around the coffee plants.
