Honnadevi Temple, Shivagange

Honnadevi Temple, situated in Shivgange, is dedicated to Honnadevi, the consort of the Hindu deity of destruction, Shiva. Honnadevi is also generally known as Swarnamba. The temple is considered to be around 300 years old. Shantala, a queen of the Hoysala Dynasty, was an ardent devotee of Goddess Honnadevi.

The Goddess is considered as the village Goddess of Shivgange and every year in April, a grand festival is celebrated here. People from the surrounding seven villages participate in this grand festival, which goes on for more than seven days.
