The town of Sanvordem in Goa is close to many tourist favourites like Colva beach, Salcette and Benaulim. It’s just around 6 km from Margao railway station that connects to the rest of Goa including the capital Panjim.
Caves called Rivona that are believed to have been dug out in the 6th or 7th Century are close to Sanvordem, and one must make it a point to hike down to them if they’re avid photography fans. Although very scarce, but the caves are a constant reminder of Buddhist presence in Goa. On Sundays Sanvordem turns into a major market place with roadside stalls and hawkers.
