The Kohoj Hill Fort is a renowned historic site in the village of Sajan. This attraction makes for some splendid sightseeing. The fort is located above a dam and dates back to the Bhoj Period when it was constructed.
The grandeur of the fort allows a window into its historic marvel, alongside the inspiring natural beauty it is enveloped in. History has it that the Portuguese Army had captured this fort in the 16th Century from the king of Gujarat and refortified it. The fort was later recaptured by the Peshwas in the later part of the 18th Century before the British took over.
The altitude of the fort gives rise to plenty trekking opportunities for adrenaline junkies. It also serves as a neat picnic spot.
