  • 01Venkat Bhavan

    Venkat Bhavan

    Venkat Bhavan is situated in Rewa, the city of white tigers. It is a well maintained building built by Maharaja Venkatraman Singh. It was built to provide employment to the locals during the time of the famine long back in the year 1894. The Bhavan is located on an area of 425 sq m and was completed in the year 1907.

    There are life sized carvings of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and these are placed at the entrance of the Bhavan. These statues give an aesthetic look to the building. These carvings were brought from a nearby temple that was completely demolished.

    There are actually twelve doors in the outer walls of the temple, and the entire Bhavan is very beautifully decorated with the statues of Gods and Goddesses. The Bhavan is very well maintained by the local authorities. This place is highly recommended for a visit.

  • 02Rani Talab

    Rani Talab

    Rani Talab is one of the oldest water wells situated in the Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh. It is one of the holiest water bodies in the entire district, and there is a huge craze among the people to visit the place during auspicious occasions. It is a very well connected well, and is used to solve many purposes of irrigation.

    The talab is situated on the southern part of the city of Rewa. Cultivation, irrigation and fisheries are the important things that are carried out by the holy water of the well. The well has a temple near it and the deity there is Goddess Kali.

    The Goddess is considered to be very powerful by the locals as they do believe that everyone gets his wishes fulfilled after visiting the deity. Every year during Diwali a grand Puja takes place in the temple premises as the day just before Diwali is considered to be Kali Puja.

    Bhairom Baba Statue

    Bhairom Baba Statue is situated at a distance of 40 km from the main city of Rewa in Madhya Pradesh. The statue is considered as an auspicious one by the devotees as thousands visit the place every month to pay a tribute to Lord Shiva.

    The deity, situated at a place called Gurh, is considered to be scared by the locals. They do believe that God always fulfills the wishes of the devotees. The place has a scenic beauty as it is surrounded by a lake.

    Chachai Waterfalls

    Chachai Waterfalls is one of the highest waterfalls in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The fall gushes out from a height of 130 m. The Bihad river is the source of the waterfall, which is a tributary of the Tamsa river. The river comes down from the Rewa Plateau.

    The waterfall causes an impression as it cascades down and rejuvenates the surrounding. This point where the impression takes place is considered as one of the greatest examples of such type. There are breaks in slopes in the vertical section of the river. The water thus falls vertically thereby creating this lovely waterfall and causing a break in the channel gradient.

    The waterfall is located at a distance of about 46 km from the main city of Rewa. The waterfall is famous as it is situated at the edge of the famous Chitrakoot Hills. The Chitrakoot Hills have a great mythological value.

    Keonti Waterfalls is located at Lalgaon at a distance of 40 km from the main city of Rewa. The waterfall is considered as the 24th highest waterfall in the whole of India. The main source of water for the falls is the Mahana river, which is considered as an important tributary of the Tamsa river.

    The fall has a height of 98 m. It is true that the fall is considered as a segmented type of a waterfall with a single drop.     APS University Stadium

    APS University Stadium is the biggest ground in the entire Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh.     Govindgarh Palace

    Govindgarh Palace was built by the Maharaja of Rewa long back in the year 1882 AD. This palace is 13 km away from the town of Rewa. The palace is surrounded by some beautiful waterfalls such as the Keonti, Chachai and Bachuti. It is at this place where the two rivers Bihad and Pichiya merge together. The palace is very well constructed with beautiful architecture all around its body.

    There is an underground tunnel in the palace that was used as a secret path by the kings of Rewa. There are many temples such as the Chowandi Temple and Hanuman Temple that are situated all across the palace.

    The palace is situated on the shore of the Govindgarh Lake and was built by the Baghela Kings. There is a museum inside the palace that has a vast history. The museum is famous in the history of the state as it is the first museum to house a white tiger recovered from the nearby jungles in 1952. The white tiger was named Mohan by the locals.

    Bagheal Museum is considered as one of the oldest museums of the town of Rewa in Madhya Pradesh. The museum is situated inside the Govindgarh Palace of Rewa and has some of the most interesting documents that represent the culture and origins of Rewa.

    The museum has the white tiger Mohan who was killed by the Maharaja of Rewa in the nearby jungles. The museum has the stuffed white tiger as mentioned earlier with some of the historic belongings of the King of Rewa.

    The museum is very well maintained by the authorities and the public is allowed to visit the place only during a limited time period. There are proper security arrangements that are made by the authority. This is to avoid any kind of robbery as the place has some antiques.

    The City Museum is one of the most traditional museums of the entire Rewa district in the princely State of Madhya Pradesh. It is true that the museum has one of the largest collections of antiques and was built in the memory of the Maharaja of Rewa.     The State Government is in collaboration with this Delhi-based company and a huge amount of money is being spent in order to maintain the rich cultural tradition of the fort. Moreover, the weapons that are kept in the museum of the fort were used in the famous Hindi movie Asoka that starred Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role.
