Bhayaharan Nath Dham, Pratapgarh

2

The Bhayaharan Nath Dham is one of the most ancient and historical shivaling temples in India. Located in a picturesque village, Katra Gulab Singh on the bank of Bakulahi river, the temple is a popular pilgrimage destination in Uttar Pradesh.

It is believed that the shivaling in the temple was established by one of the Pandava brothers, Bhima, during the time of the Mahabharata. He installed the shivaling after killing the demon Bakasura. So the temple is not just dedicated to Lord Shiva but also associated with the legend of epic Mahabharata.
