Arjuneswar Temple is a major religious site, which is nestled at an elevation of 6000 ft above sea level. It is located at a distance of around 10 km from Pithoragarh and can be reached by trekking. This temple is devoted to the Hindu Lord Shiva. According to folklore, this temple was built by Arjuna, one of the Pandavas (the mythological characters of the Hindu epic, the Mahabharata). Arjuna was considered as a great warrior and the best archer of the bygone era.
