Arjuneswar Temple is a major religious site, which is nestled at an elevation of 6000 ft above sea level. It is located at a distance of around 10 km from Pithoragarh and can be reached by trekking. This temple is devoted to the Hindu Lord Shiva. According to a folklore, this temple was built by Arjuna, one of the Pandavas (the mythological characters of the Hindu epic, the Mahabharata). Arjuna was considered as a great warrior and the best archer of the bygone era.
