Kotdwar, Pauri

Kotdwara is the largest business centre as well as the only plain town of the district of Pauri Garhwal. It is the sole railway terminus, located on the banks of the river Khoh. Kotdwara is situated at an elevation of 650 m above sea level. Compared to other parts of the district, this place experiences hot weather.

According to records, Kotdwara was a tiny business area till 1953. After connecting the place with railway route in 1953, it became a major business area of the region. The place which is sprawling over an area of 2.59 sq. km offers an opportunity to visit shrines like Siddhbali and Durgadevi Temple.

Other tourist attractions nearby are Kanvashram, Bharat Nagar, Chila, Kalagarh, Medanpuri Devi and Shri Koteshwar Mahadev.
