Sheetla Mata Temple is a popular religious site, devoted to the Hindu Goddess Sheetla, situated on the borders of the town. Devotees visit this temple in large numbers in the months of March and April when the Sheetla Mata Festival is celebrated. They offer milk, water, and sweets to the presiding deity of the temple. Visitors do not cook food on this day. Instead, they eat meals prepared the previous day. It is believed that doing this will keep the anger of the Goddess away from the house and earn Her blessings for the members of the family.
