Sarangapuram Hanuman Temple, Nizamabad

Sarangapuram Hanuman Temple lies at a distance of 8 km from the city of Nizamabad and is located in the village of Sarangapuram. The village is also a mandal and comes under the Nizamabad district. The Hanuman temple in the village is very popular among the tourists because it enjoys the privilege of being one of the important pilgrim destinations in the country.

The main attraction of the temple is the huge idol of Lord Hanuman that has been carved out on a single piece of rock. Saint Samaratha Ramadas has been credited with laying the foundation of the temple some 425 years ago. Since then, the temple has seen a large number of pilgrims as well as tourists.

On Tuesdays, devotees throng to the temple in large numbers because the day is considered to be auspicious for praying to the Monkey God. A special ‘puja’ or prayer is held in the evenings to invoke the blessings of Lord Hanuman.
