Seeralamman Temple, Nagore

Seeralamman Temple is one of the greatest attractions in the town of Nagore. Though Nagore is a small town, it is very famous for its temples and this temple carries a legacy of its own. Located near the Nagore Railway station, this temple is in a fishing village.

The local fishermen are the main initiators behind the maintenance of this century old temple. The temple has a long history that dates back to the Puranas. The Sreelamman festival takes place once in a year and is considered as an annual festival in the temple premises. The months of October and November are the periods when the festival takes place for ten days.

The deity is considered to be very powerful and one who visits him always gets his or her wish fulfilled. There are certain rituals that one has to follow before appearing in front of the powerful deity.
