Mayiladuthurai Weather

Mayiladuthurai being a temple town, involves a lot of outdoor activity. Summer would be the most unfavorable season to visit when humidity and heat mingle. Winter season is the best season to visit Mayiladuthurai given that the season has pleasant temperatures and the best combination of sunshine and shade. Since most devotees visit temples barefooted, the cooler temperatures during winter are favorable.

Summer

Summer in Mayiladuthurai, as in the rest of Tamil Nadu, is hot and sticky. Summer months range between March and May. The temperatures usually hover between 43 degrees centigrade and 25 degrees. While the nights are relatively cool, the days especially middays are unendurably hot. The peak summer months of April and May are definitely months that should be avoided.

Monsoon
