Maravanthe is the town that houses a beautiful beach, and this town is located in the South Canara district of Karnataka. The town has the Arabian Sea to its right and the Sauparnika river on its left. This beach, near Kundapura, lies at a distance of 50 km from Udupi and about 450 km from Bangalore.

This beach is often referred to as the Virgin Beach for its miles and miles of unspoilt white sand. Being one of the most favoured tourist destinations among tourists, this place is located near Kollur and the Kodachadri Hills. The National Highway 17 lies at a distance of about 100 m from the shore, and this is sure to make your commute easier.

Towards the south of this beach is a place called Trasi and on the other side of the Sauparnika river is the Padukone village.

The town is quite easily accessible through air, rail and road. The nearest airport is Bajpe Airport in Mangalore and the Bangalore International Airport. From the Mangalore Airport you can reach the beach through buses or taxis. The nearest rail junction would be Mangalore and the beach is easily connected to other parts of Karnataka by good roads, which makes commuting through buses or private vehicles easier.

Tourists can take boat cruises on the Souparnika river and also a good dip at this river that legends state has medicinal values.
