Majuli Weather

The best season to travel to Majuli is during the winter months. During this time, the temperature is favourable and not harsh. The Brahmaputra is also calmer during the winters making it safe to travel via the ferries. The winters are considered to be the peak tourist season of Majuli.

Summer

Summer sets in by March and lasts till the end of May. The temperature stays around 25 degrees Celsius though it can shoot upto 43 degrees Celsius too. Humidity and extreme heat are to be expected in Majuli during the summers. May and June are the harshest months.

Monsoon

Monsoon sets in by July and lasts till the end of September. One common problem during the monsoons here is floods. Most parts of the island remain submerged during this season. Though the island looks very beautiful during this season, it is not advisable to travel to Majuli during the monsoons.

Winter

The winter months sees pleasant weather from December to February. The average temperature ranges between 7 degrees Celsius and 18 degrees Celsius. Light woollens are enough for the winters in Majuli. Since the rain subsides, the island get a new look that enhances it beauty all the more.
