    Mookambika Temple is also known as Kolapura Adi Mahalakshmi Temple, which is amongst the must-visit shrines in Kollur. The temple is nestled in the thick forest, in the backdrop of splendid mountain ranges. Its structure reflects ancient Hindu culture and is considered as an architectural marvel.

    The temple houses Jyotirmaya Lingam that has a golden line in the middle, signifying Shakthi. This lingam is positioned in front of Goddess Mookambika's statue that has three eyes. This ancient temple also has a holy Siddi Kshetra with which several stories are associated. During Navratri, Saraswati Pooja is organised in the temple, which is attended by hundreds of pilgrims.

    Mookambika Temple is decorated beautifully with flowers and pilgrims take ritual baths before worshipping the lingam and the idol.

    The temple faces east and the sanctorum inside it faces the north side. Statues of Vata Yakshi, Malayali Yakshi and two dwarapalakas are placed at this temple. Brahmalingeshwara, Sri Haigluli and Huli Devaru, Chikkamma and Parivaram are the main deities of this temple. Makar Sankranti and Chariot festival are celebrated with great enthusiasm in this temple. Tourists can visit this temple from 6 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 9 pm.
