Baijnath Temple is a noted religious site located in the town of Baijnath, around 16 km away from Kausani. The temple, built during the 12th century, holds great religious and historic significance among Hindus.

According to a legend, Hindu deities Shiva and Parvati got married at the confluence of the Gomti river and the Garur Ganga. The town of Baijnath, earlier known as Kartikyapura, served as the capital of the Katyuri Dynasty during the 12th and 13th century.
