Gaula River, Kathgodam

Gaula river originates from Sattal Lake and flows through the regions of Shahi, Haldwani and Kathgodam. This 500-km long river joins the Ramganga river in Uttar Pradesh and later merges into the sacred Ganga.

Due to soil erosion and deforestation, the overall rainfall has decreased in the region, which has reduced the water of the river. Travellers can choose to go for a picnic on the Gaula Barrage, a dam constructed over this river.
