Karaikudi Weather

The best time to visit Karaikudi is between October and February. The place has moderate winters making sightseeing and travel a pleasure during these months. Once can easily hop, skip and jump from one tourist destination to another without bothering too much about the sun or the heat. The humidity levels are also low during these months.

Summer

Summer months in Karaikudi are extremely hot and humid. Summer begins in the month of March and lasts for the next four months until mid-June. It is scorching hot and sultry in the afternoons. The evenings are pleasant still, but it can become very humid and stuffy if there is no breeze blowing. Travel to Karaikudi is not recommended at this time.

Monsoon

Monsoon in Karaikudi is experienced during the months of June, July and August. The rains may continue well until the mid-September depending on the winds. The place receives moderate to heavy rainfall. The temperature comes down to about 30 degrees Celsius during these three months. However, the level of humidity and precipitation definitely increases.

Winter

Winter begins in late November or early December. However, it never becomes chilly in Karaikudi. The temperature definitely dips down making the sun tolerable. But one does not require heavy woolens to beat the cold of the place. Evenings tend to be a little cooler and one may require a light jacket or a shawl to escape the cool of the night.
