How to reach Karaikudi by train

Karaikudi Junction is connected via the Trichy- Rameshwaram railway line as well as by Mayiladuthurai-Karaikudi railway line. There are about five trains that run daily on these two lines and will take you to Karaikudi. Recently, work has been started on the meter gauge section connection the town of Karaikudi and Pattukottai. It will soon be converted into Broad gauge.
