Taliparamba, Kannur / 2023

Taliparamba, a town and a municipality located at a distance of about 21 km from Kannur town, is best known for its scenic beauty. The serpentine hills surrounding the town and long stretches of fields attract travellers. The town is blessed with river Kuppam and River Valapattanam that flow though the region nourishing it with their waters.

The major attractions of Taliparamba are the hanging bridge located at Kuttiyeri and the Muthappan temple at Parassinikkadavu. The Muthappan temple is a unique worship place which attracts thousands of devotees every year.

The town has a number of educational institutions and research centres including the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Pepper Research Station and Pariyaram Medical College. Taliparamba has a number of worship places which draw travellers from all over Kerala.

The Sree Rajarajeswara Temple (dedicated to Lord Shiva) and the Trichambaram Temple (the presiding deity of which is Lord Krishna) are the most prominent religious places of the region. The festivals of these temples give Taliparamba a mood of festivity and the town becomes crowded during the seasons of festivals.
