Recommended

Bawey Wali Mata Temple can be visited by tourists while exploring the Bahu Fort as this pilgrimage site is situated inside the fort premises. According to belief, the Bawey Wali Mata Temple was built in 1822 just after Maharaja Gulab Singh took over the Kingdom of Jammu & Kashmir. This popular temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali, who is considered as the presiding deity of the Jammu region. The temple is regarded as a pilgrimage site of chief importance after the Mata Vaishno Devi Temple. Devotees visit this temple in large numbers, especially on Sundays and Tuesdays.
