A Travel Guide To Joshimath

Ganesh Pol, Jaipur

Ganesh Pol, situated in the main palace of the Amber Fort, was constructed by King Jai Singh II between the years of 1611 and 1667. There are seven main gates in the Amber Fort, and Ganesh Pol is one of them. The entry through this gate was exclusive to the Kings and their families so that they could easily get inside the fort, into their private chambers without being disturbed. A magnificent idol of the Hindu Lord Ganesh done in beautiful colours is placed here. The gate represents the amalgamation of the Mughal and the Rajput style of architecture.
