Tyrshi Falls, Jaintia Hills

Tyrshi Falls is another one of the little-known treasures of Meghalaya. It is situated alongside the Jowai-Shillong Road. The beautiful falls come down in steps with the water gushing swiftly looking like an enormous white veil. The falls are connected by an arched bridge, consisting of more than 20 hundred steps, which go down to the bottom of the falls.

On the way, it gives you a beautiful panoramic view of the Pynthor Nein paddy fields. Like the Elephant Falls in Shillong, one can take the joy of going close to the waterfall and enjoying the bursts of water.

However, one needs to mention that the Tyrshi Falls stand almost three times taller than the Elephant Falls. Best time to visit the falls would be the monsoons when the falls are in their optimum verve.

Being just one kilometre away from the Jowai-Shillong Highway, one can get off the main road after Thadlaskein to enjoy a quick trip.
