Painavu, Idukki

Painavu is another attraction of Idukki. Being the headquarters of Idukki district, it is also an important commercial centre. The Idukki Arch Dam and Cheruthoni Dam are both situated at around 7 km away from this place.

The place is known for its picturesque and pleasing ambiance. Dense evergreen forests girdle this small town. Visitors come from far and near for trekking expeditions in the forests. The best season to visit the area is after shower, during the months of September and January.
