Powa Mecca is considered to have the sanctity found in Mecca. An important religious destination for the Muslims in the north-eastern region, the Hajo Powa Mecca is said to be built by using the soil brought from Mecca. Powa means one-fourth and thus the name Powa Mecca signifies that the mosque has one-fourth of the sanctity of Mecca, the holiest city for the Muslims.

Built in the year 1657, the mosque lies on the Garurachal hill. The mosque also houses the tomb of Pir Giasuddin Auliya, the saint responsible for spreading Islam in this part of the world. The mosque was constructed by Mir Lutufullah-i-Shiraji during the reign of Mughal emperor Shahjahan.
Every year large number of Muslims pays homage to the tomb of Pir Giasuddin Auliya here. The Powa Mecca also witnesses tourists who come to check out the great architecture. Powa Mecca is located close to the Hayagriva Madhava Temple.
