Velneshwar, Guhagar

The Velneshwar village is located at a distance of about 20 km from the village of Guhagar. It is popular for its beach that goes by the same name as the village. The village of Velneshwar is mainly a fishing community, lying on the banks of river Shastri.

The village is clean and extremely scenic, while the Velneshwar Beach is the most famous attraction here. The beach is pristine and lined with coconut groves. It is full of white sand. The Velneshwar Beach offers several water-based activities like swimming, motor boats, etc.

The village is situated on the main road of Guhagar-Hedvi and is also known for the Lord Shiva Temple. This temple is revered to be the Kuldaivat of the Kokanashtha Chitpavan Brahmins and sees a lot of tourist activity during the festival of Maha Shivratri. One can espy a huge Deepamaal at the entrance with nearby shrines of other Gods like Kala Bhairav, Lord Ganesha and Lord Shiva.
