East Garo Hills Weather

The best season to visit the pristine locations of East Garo Hills is the winters. It is not too cold here during the winters making it an ideal time for sight-seeing. Adventure lovers and trekkers will also find this to be the ideal time to explore the region. However, it is necessary to carry woolens while traveling here.

Summer

Compared to the other parts of Meghalaya, East Garo Hills sees higher temperatures. The highest temperature that can be expected here is about 37 degrees Celsius. Since the entire Garo Hills lies on a plateau, the temperature rises making it warm and humid. The summer months are April, May and June.  

Monsoon

Monsoon sets in by July and lasts till the end of September. The monsoons bring in heavy rainfall to the entire district making several areas inaccessible to people. It is not an ideal time for tourists as they can witness frequent road blocks and floods.  

Winter

The winters are very pleasant in East Garo Hills district. The maximum temperature can extend up to 25 degrees Celsius while the minimum recorded temperature is 7 degrees Celsius. The winter sets in early here in the month of October, and it lasts till the end of February.
