Chenraya Perumal Temple, Dharmapuri

Chenraya Perumal Temple is considered as one of the most auspicious temples in the entire state of Tamil Nadu. It is located in the Dharmapuri district. It is actually an oval shaped fort and the locals do have a belief that this temple is located in the ancient capital of Adhiyamans, the ancient rulers of Tagodur. The Krishna Deva Raya and the Raysala kings are said to have constructed this temple.

It is the huge mandapapam that carves its way to the inner temple and the temple stands on a flat platform. There are thirteenth century paintings that are there all over the inner sanctum of the temple.

One has to visit the temple during spring as this time is considered to be very lucky by the locals. Moreover, the place is situated in such a route that there are plenty of bus services from across the state that are available in this place.
