Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapeeth was founded in the year 1922 as a branch of the Ramakrishna Mission in Kolkata established by Swami Vivekananda. It is an educational institute for young boys only and gives education based on the teachings and the principles of Swami Vivekananda. It is a residential school and is one the oldest institutes of Ramakrishna Mission.
The campus is beautifully surrounded with green trees and many playgrounds. All kinds of facilities are available for students and their all round development. The school is run by the monks of the mission and people from all over the world come here.
The Mission also works for the spreading of spiritual and cultural ideas through the publication of religious books, events and meetings. Medical services are also available on the campus. In the heart of the campus, there is a universal temple where festivals and daily prayers are held. Ramakrishna Darshan is an exhibition which is held throughout the year. It also has a museum and this part is known as the Sarada Darshan.
