Barsur, Dantewada

Barsur happens to be a small sleepy village near Dantewada. In the past, the village used to be called the city of temples and ponds and is believed to have around 147 temples and an almost equal number of ponds in it.

Century after century, the place lost its glory and now all that remains are the ruins of the temples that were once the pride of the place. The ruins of the temples speak about its rich past. Some of the noted temples are Mama-Bhanja Temple, Chandraditya Temple and Battisa Temple. A huge statue of Lord Ganesh is also worth visiting.
