    Goddess Danteshwari is traditionally the family goddess of the place.

    Tales say that this is the place where the tooth of Devi Sati fell. Since this was a period when all the Shakti Peethas were constructed in the era of Satya Yuga , the deity here came to be called Danteshwari.
