Danteshwari Temple is a prominent attraction of Dantewada. It is dedicated to Goddess Danteshwari and is also one of the 52 Shakti Peethas (shrines of Shakti, the divine feminine) in India.

Goddess Danteshwari is traditionally the family goddess of the place.

Tales say that this is the place where the tooth of Devi Sati fell. Since this was a period when all the Shakti Peethas were constructed in the era of Satya Yuga , the deity here came to be called Danteshwari.

This is one of the attractions of Dantewada which you shouldn't miss. Around 14 km from Dantewada, there is a small village called Gamawada. Huge stone pillars are found in this village which are popularly called the Memory Pillars.

These pillars were erected by the local inhabitants of the place centuries back in the loving memory of their deceased loved ones.

Bodhghat Sath Dhar is a small yet beautiful waterfall located around 6 km from Barsur in Chhattisgarh. The beauty of the place is beyond explanation as it's a place full of lush green forests, a river and mountains providing splendid views of nature.

It is also a popular picnic spot as travellers stop by to see the beauty of the waterfall and the location.

Bailadila is a beautiful hill range in Chhattisgarh which is known for its huge deposits of iron ore. The surface of the mountain looks like the humps of an ox, thus, giving it the name Baila Dila which means the hump of ox.

Bailadila, which is an industrial area, is divided into two towns - Bacheli and Kirandul. The maximum deposits of iron ore are found on the highest peak of the hill range known as Aakash Nagar. However, to visit this peak, the permission should be taken from the National Mineral Development Corporation. The peak is also a place that offers views of lush forests and beautiful landscapes.

Barsur happens to be a small sleepy village near Dantewada. In the past, the village used to be called the city of temples and ponds and is believed to have around 147 temples and an almost equal number of ponds in it.

Century after century, the place lost its glory and now all that remains are the ruins of the temples that were once the pride of the place. The ruins of the temples speak about its rich past. Some of the noted temples are Mama-Bhanja Temple, Chandraditya Temple and Battisa Temple. A huge statue of Lord Ganesh is also worth visiting.
