Chorward- To Fish, Relax and Rejuvenate. . .

Chorwad was a small fishing village which rose to glory when Nawab of Junagadh, Muhammad Mahabat Khanji III Rasul Khanji , the Regional Governor of Junagadh, built his summer palace in this place in 1930. This place was under his rule till independence. The palace is also called as the Daria Mahal, and the architectural style is a blend of Italian and Muslim styles. Later in 1974 it was taken over by the government and turned into a resort.

The beach here is unsafe for swimming because of the rocky sea shores but one can definitely enjoy a country boat ride or a visit to the nearby fishing villages. This is one of the popular spots to relax and enjoy during weekends. The fishermen from the nearby villages also offer their sail boats to go for fishing trips. Just a few kilometers away is Kirti Mandir, Mahatma Gandhi's birthplace, that can also be a part of the trip.
