Dasaratha Rameshwara Temple, Chitradurga

Dasaratha Rameshwara temple is located in a forest at Hosadurga taluk of Chitradurga. It is also known as Varjra. It is believed that the temple was built by King Dasaratha after he kills his son Sant Shravana, so that his deeds are neutralised.

The shiva linga here is said to be installed by the King along with his son Rama. This temple is a very calm place, and is a great place for meditation. The other attractions near this temple are Gayatri Jalashaya, Vani Vilad Sagar dam, Rosary Church, Chitradurga fort, Ankali Mutt, etc.
