Tomb Of Sham Ded, Budgam

Tomb of Sham Ded is located in Poshker village in the district of Budgam. It is the burial place for Sham Ded, an ironsmith’s daughter who learned the lessons of spiritualism from Hazrat Sheikh Noor-ud-din Noorani (RA) and Sheikh-ul-Alam. Sham Ded received her name from the disciple of Hazrat Sheikh Noor-ud-din Noorani, Baba Latif-ud-Din Qazi. It is believed that Sham Ded was the one to pass the information of the death of Sheikh Noor-ud-din Noorani to Baba Latif-ud-Din. It was evening time when she passed on the information. As a reason, she was named Sham, which means evening.
