Bilaspur Weather

Bilaspur is subject to continental and monsoon type weather. While summers are hot, winters are milder. Rainfall is limited. Such climatic conditions are favourable for agriculture. Wheat, rice, sugarcane and cotton are some of the crops which grow. Industrial development is also apt in such climate.

Summer

Summers are generally hot and dry in Bilaspur as the temperature soars to 45°C. Humidity reaches its maximum level. Summer starts by mid of March and continues till June. Dust cyclones are a common scenario during this time of the year.  

Monsoon

Small rainy season starts from July and continues till September. Mostly rainfall is from South West monsoon. Western disturbances welcome rainfall during winter. October to November remains mild as it is the transition period between monsoon and winter. Annual rainfall reaches upto 58cm, which is not evenly distributed throughout the district. Lack of proper rainfall makes the agriculture dependent on tube wells and canal irrigation.  

Winter

Winter in Bilaspur starts by November and continues till March. They are mild and pleasant. The minimum temperature reaches to 10°C.
