The history of the place makes the city popular among other cities of Karnataka. Since Bidar district shares the border with Andhra Pradesh, the city is close to some of the major cities of Andhra Pradesh like Hyderabad, than some of the cities in Karnataka itself.

Tourist Attractions In and Around Bidar

There are several tourist attractions in Bidar that flaunt the glorious past of the city. The best attraction of this place is Bidar Fort. Some of the other attractions of the place are Solah Kambh Masjid, Gumbaz Darwaza, Nanak Jhira Sahib, Papa Nashaka Temple, etc.

Fairs & Festivals of Bidar

An annual fair called the Bidarotsav is organised every year in the month of January or February. This festival showcases the sulture and heritage of the city. This include kite flying competitions, children's film festival, Mushairas or Sher recitals by renowned poets of the place, and street plays. These events are held in several places like the Bidar fort and the Rangmandir theatre.

Humnabad, which is very close to Bidar, is where a week's celebration of Veerbhadreshwara Jatra or the Chariot procession. This happens in February every year, and is considered one of the significant festivals of Bidar.

Best Time to Visit Bidar

Bidar is one of the coldest cities of Karnataka. The best time to visit the place is during monsoons as the city would be humid and warm during this season.
