Jamia Masjid, thronged by a large number of tourists every year, is a 'must see' attraction of Bhatkal. Erected in 851 Heigra, this mosque has a dome of gold that was placed here recently. The presence of this gold dome earned Jamia Masjid a new moniker, Chinnada Palli, which literally means 'golden mosque'.
With three floors and a basement, approximately 10,000 people can easily be accommodated at this Masjid. An office building located next to this mosque is home to Muhakma-e Shariyah, where disputes are resolved.
