Sogal Someshwar Temple, Belgaum

Sogal is a popular tourist spot situated in the Belgaum district of Karnataka. The place has in it for the devotees , adventurists and trekkers! Temples galore in Sogal and Someshwar Temple is the most prominent among them. 

Someshwar Temple was built in the Rashtrakuta times and has been a centre for religious teachings since then. Local folklore suggest that even tigers came to Sogal to listen to the religious preachings.  Another attraction of the place is Sogal falls. It is located over the hill side and present an exotic sight in the backdrop of old temples and forts. 

Kadambarayan Kote is an old fortification in ruins located to east of Sogal.
